BURKINA FASO
"10 Wells" for "10 Villages"

Our 2009 project supports 10 villages located in Burkina Faso. Many people live in those villages by growing plants and raising animals. As there is no potable water in the villages the people drink the water of a nearby lake, which causes chronic diseases especially to children and women. The project is sponsored by the company ACEA spa (Italy) and aims at building 4 potable water wells. The cost of each well is 8.000,00 Euros. The overall objective is to: Provide enough potable water to the people and animals living in the village Improve the living conditions, particularly to children and women Overall improvement of hygienic and sanitary conditions, complemented by teaching the basics for a good health The specific objective of Above-and-Below is to fund all 10 wells. To achieve this we have produced again a calendar of underwater photography which is distributed with the support of many friends. All of us have one single objective: support the people who are less lucky than us. As last year, we rely on your support to make this initiative a success.
